This seems to be an on-going issue in the forums. I don't want to do this every time though. There is a workaround- to uncheck folder under Preferences. However, since I have to open() them in my code, they all get downloaded, which would take much more than the available memory on my computer. This used to work for me but suddenly I am seeing files that have been uploaded to OneDrive and 'freed up' appearing in Manage Storage and taking up local space. Then select the option for your computer and hit Add folder to start syncing.I have been using OneDrive to store a large amount of images and now I need to process those, so I have sync'd my OneDrive folder to my computer, which takes relatively no space on disk. To sync folders from your computer, click the Drive icon in the menu bar, then the gear icon, followed by Preferences. With Google Drive for desktop, you can choose to have your files streamable from the cloud (they won’t exist on your hard drive) or mirrored (physical copies will exist on your Drive and computer). Your files will be safe and sound in the cloud, but if you need to edit them you’ll need to return to this screen and download them again, or download them directly from the Google Drive website (which may take some time with larger files and folders). To make some folders online-only, check the Sync these folders only box, then deselect the folders you don’t want local copies of. To sync everything between Google Drive in the cloud and the local Google Drive folders on your computer, check the box marked Sync everything in My Drive. um i need help so on my windows 11 home pc i need to free up space in my onedrive but i need the files on my pc instead of bieng deleted can some one help me please.
